You can then add the MP4 file to your iTunes library. You'll use Handbrake to extract the DVD-Video stream and convert it to an MP4 file. it does for DVD-Video discs what iTunes does for Compact Discs. You will need to download an application called HandBrake (which I think is still freeware) and install it onto your MacBook Air. However, you can watch your DVDs via your AppleTV indirectly. Unfortunately, the AppleTV does not support connecting the Apple USB SuperDrive (it would actually be great if it did for those of us that have large DVD-Video libraries).

You mentioned that you already have the Apple USB SuperDrive (or 'Apple DVD Player') that you use with your MacBook Air, correct?

I'm sorry that the current responses have been along the lines of 'Apple doesn't make a DVD player' when you clearly meant connecting the Apple USB SuperDrive to your AppleTV.
